Of course. The news interviewed Brodie Croyle and he gives the Tide an excellent chance this season. Oh... you mean the Other Tide? One hopes so. Looking at the soft market and the relative stock prices, I believe it's cooperation or a fire sale of assets for some of these companies. Stockholders can be relentless. Been there. Is it only about money? No, but without that, the other reasons can't be supported. That isn't a cynical position. It is hopeful because it means parties are recognizing that business is not always about beating the other guy. Also, somewhat surprisingly given the "vendor dynamics" on such specifications: The authors include not only Microsoft, IBM, BEA, and SAP, but...Sun Microsystems. Is the tide turning?
