The Federal CIO Council's Semantic Interoperability Community of Practice (SICoP) and TopQuadrant have released the advanced program for both days of the conference: http://www.topquadrant.com/conferences/sept8_2004/stgov04-8th.htm  and http://www.topquadrant.com/conferences/sept8_2004/stgov04-9th.htm.  The conference will take place on September 8-9, 2004 at http://www.mitre.org/about/locations/mitre1_map.html in McLean, Virginia.

The focus of the program is breakthrough technology for data integration, process interoperability, and decision support.

Expanding on last year’s first run of this seminal event at the White House Conference Center, Semantic Technologies for eGov 2004 offers a comprehensive event in an extended two day format.  Topics include a http://www.topquadrant.com/conferences/sept8_2004/Docs/PublicDocs/Semantic%20Tech%20for%20eGov%202004-special%20tutorial.htm, executive briefings summarizing new research on the benefits, value and lifecycle ROI of semantic technologies for government and industry, the semantic web landscape and implementation case studies.

Keynote and featured speakers this year include Eric Miller, Semantic Web Activity Lead, World Wide Web Consortium; Jeff Pollock, Vice President Technology, Network Inference; George Strawn, CIO, NSF; Zvi Schreiber, CEO, Unicorn; Mills Davis, Managing Director, TopQuadrant-TopConnexions; and Professor Jim Hendler, University of Maryland.  For details and times of presentations see http://www.topquadrant.com/conferences/sept8_2004/stgov04.htm

Several papers will also be presented as poster sessions. The conference program includes vendor exhibits. Exhibiting companies include such leading technology vendors as Convera, Digital Harbor, IBM and Unicorn Solutions.
