WSDL 2.0 is supposedly schema language agnostic, though W3C schema is the only normative language. i wonder how successful assertive languages like Schematron are in constructing messages? another 'unusual' but common use is using the schema for a language to examine a set of test XML documents and then report upon test coverage. so nothing very 'unconventional' there .. ho hum ..
