True.  But there are patterns one can easily recognize 
and use to discern when something said to be standard isn't, 
or that an activity announced as a standards making activity 
is in effect, simply a way to derail an effort that is and 
actively harm an industry.

If we can't tell the difference, we are the wrong guys for our jobs.
