Relaxer can take an XML document and generate DTDs, XML Schema, RELAX 
NG, and RELAX Core schemas, plus HTML and XSLT (http://www.relaxer.org). 
James Clark's Trang can translate an XML document into RELAX NG in XML 
and compact syntaxes, XML Schema, and DTDs  
(http://www.thaiopensource.com/relaxng/trang.html). Both are written in 
Java.
