Here is a pretty good page for anyone who wants
to refresh their knowledge of complex systems
science basic concepts.

http://human-nature.com/science-as-culture/rosenhead.html

Beyond those, the page is an exposition on complexity
theory as applied to management, and in effect what
the WWW cognoscenti often call "the social dimension".
One interesting point that informs some threads is
that the social systems are fundamentally different
because they are self-aware of the laws that govern
them.
