1. On January 29, there will be a security panel discussion during a web
services conference at the San Diego Supercomputer Center. Panel members include
Jeff Carmichael of Tarari, Mark Colan of IBM, Rajiv Gupta of Confluent, and Gene
Thurston of Amber Point. The cost of the conference is $50 if you're not an
SDSIC member (includes breakfast, lunch by Microsoft). You must pre-register at:

2. On March 15, a panel will discuss software trends and the marriage of XML,
SQL, Web services and grid computing. The session will be part of the Software
Development 2004 conference in Santa Clara, California. The panel is open to
