This does not seem to be a patent on XULs in general. It seems to be a 
patent on
running HTML outside a "browser", e.g. using HTML as a layout manager.
(Of course, it should not have been granted: apparantly when the .COM 
bubble burst
it scattered crapulous patents everywhere.)
