You might find it helpful to know that if you reverse the order of the
particles in your example, a plain <any/> will work.  The crucial
requirements then are that the <any/> is the _last_ particle in the
<sequence>, and that the particle _preceding_ the <any/> have
minOccurs=maxOccurs.
