Rats. I thought maybe I would eventually get an ad for
one of those pills that really works, but no... and yes,
there are better uses for grits, but usually with butter
and biscuits. (Durn... now I'm hungry for breakfast.)

How does it make it easier to find the best most thoughtful
replies in large threads? I'm not a /. reader.

At an absolute minimum, you need to prune the spam; e.g. offers for
penis enlargement pills. I tend to feel you should not prune more
than the absolute minimum. (i.e. it's also a maximum). The slashdot
self-moderation system is very interesting. IT allows everything, but
tends to hide the "first post/Natalie Portman/Pour Hot Grits Down My
Pants" posts. It also makes it much easier to finds the best, most
thoughtful replies in large threads.
