I guess the example document format was too simple but
the same thing should work with the following for example:

<books>
<book>
<title>Effective XML</title>
<author>Elliotte Rusty Harold</author>
</book>
</books>

here getbook binding callback (see previos post) would be called with 
/books/book
AND with all of its sub elements of course to allow binding to variables.
