Could be.  Actually, I am hoping the WGs of the graphics 
committees do that.  That means more than the W3C.  The W3C
controls core specs but not the applications.  So it's 
even scarier.  It cross-cultural.  It doesn't have to be 
official; just convenient.  The real problem is that once 
one starts down that path, these can become real datatypes, 
not the kind XML plays on TV.
