I think it really would be interesting to find out exactly how many people
are using it. I don't think that anyone really has a handle on all the
uses (front-end and back-end) where XML is being used.  If anyone has the
resources to actually do a study it would be great.  I think having a
database of uses would be great!

UDDI could be possibly be used to support this type of information.

If there is a consensus that this information about be useful, I am
willing to establish a database and allow individuals to include their
survey information voluntarily.  This would require minimal resources to
establish.  This would be unscientific (garbage in/garbage out).  
However, it may be useful.
