Note that you can also just replace the sequence by a choice:

 <xs:element name="lala">
  <xs:complexType>
   <xs:choice minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded">
    <xs:element name="foo"/>
    <xs:element name="bar"/>
   </xs:choice>
  </xs:complexType>
 </xs:element>
