Looking over old messages, I don't see any posts announcing
the public review of JSR 173, the Streaming API for XML. So
here goes...

JSR 173 is an attempt to design a streaming ("pull parser")
API for Java. A few weeks ago, the first spec was released
for public review. The review period ends on July 4, so if
you are interested in this API, please download the release,
check it out, and send in your comments.

the following URL:

P.S. Don't worry if the download filename is still named
      "sax" -- that's just a typo that should be fixed soon
      if it hasn't already.
