There is nothing wrong with noting international vs. *local*, whether local is US, Asia, Europe, Africa, or whatever. If Len were in Europe and made the same comment, there probably would not have been any complaint. In the politically correct environment of today, it is becoming more common for slights to be perceived through the prejudice of the hearer than through the intent of the speaker. There are enough real instances to address (recall the recent postings about Sun's "bombshell" and other *real* discriminatory comments), there's no need to pick on trivialities.
