 Any chance to try to more recent versions, current libxml2 is 2.5.4 and
libxslt is 1.0.27, there have been a lot of fixes since 2.4.23/1.0.19
Simply fetch the rpms from ftp://xmlsoft.org/ and rpm -U them on your box.
