"Bullard, Claude L (Len)" scripsit: > Why don't we find out what it is that is going > wrong with the listserver first? For example, I suffer because I have to post from two different addresses, and therefore must sign up twice. However, there is no way to set one of the addresses "nomail". Consequently, I get every posting twice. I redirect them to an xml-dev folder and delete every other message before reading, but it's annoying and error-prone to do that. Every other listserv software I know of supports "nomail" or the equivalent. The inadequacy of the archive software, which loses messages and then finds them again, emits badly borked HTML, and is otherwise annoying, is well documented on this list (or would be if we had working archives!). OASIS has chosen for reasons of its own to use substandard listserv/archive software. We should choose for that reason not to use OASIS. And when the director has in effect told us "ite, missa est", we should do what he says. -- There is / One art John Cowan <jcowan@r...> No more / No less http://www.reutershealth.com To do / All things http://www.ccil.org/~cowan With art- / Lessness -- Piet Hein
