This should be an easy one: I recommend you verify the character
encoding in the XML prolog (the "encoding" attribute as specified
below):

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?> 

You probably need to specify a different character encoding than UTF-8
to support the special characters (which encoding I don't know offhand).
