But they all don't fit XML neatly depending on where 
one stands among the range from syntax to system 
implementation.  A subset that redefines the XML 
core rather than simply being an application subset 
is disruptive and possibly unnecessarily so.  TBD.  

It's a cost issue.  When to spend it and how much 
to spend when.   One can name the positions of 
many of the people in this thread by determining 
which of the three definitions for "XML interoperability" 
that they believe their subset supports.
