Depends on the kid but five is when 
one has to train them for proper 
behavior in social situations.  Up 
to five, they are babies and adorable. 
At five, they become obnoxious for 
precisely the same behaviors because 
they have weight, vocabulary, and 
understand precisely where to apply 
these to get effect on adults, and 
effect is all they care about.

12 to 14 is when they become troublesome. 
They become capable of spawning new 
adorable babies without the resources 
to raise them properly.  See SGML.
