A good vigorous debate is one thing, but you seem to be willing to make a
fool of yourself to try to win a point.

According to _The XML Handbook_, published in 1998 by Prentice Hall and
authored by Charles F. Goldfarb (the inventor of SGML) and Paul Prescod (!),
the first DTD was published in a 1978 IBM manual written by Goldfarb and
derived from work he and others had done in the late '60s.
