OK, I'll come clean.

I am writing a tutorial, and I want to illustrate the fact that XML can 
represent a wide range of structures, using examples drawn from a handful 
of different kinds of documents. XHTML, SOAP messages, and SQL/XML views of 
relational data seem like no-brainers. I might also pick SVG just because I 
like it.

I would like to pick two or three vocabularies from the business world that 
are (1) well designed and (2) are actually being adopted.
