When this subject has come up before, some have answered with "These can be informative. Post them only once and with the absolute minimum information, essentially, just the name of the product, a *concise* description of what it does, and a URI to where more information can be found. Mark it clearly as an announcement." Some marketing groups have a list of places to send these announcements (say, SPAM) and don't consider the local rules for postings. That is irritating, but deleting the occasional nuisance is easier than deleting the umpteenth thread of posts protesting the nuisance.
