Of course, the real fun will be when two semiotes 
begin to exchange documents with the same tagnames 
and the same structures but different namespaces 
because each insists on their own interpretations. 
Scale accordingly.

And then the web really does mirror reality:  
messages are meaningless and the semantic 
web is itself, just another red herring or 
assertion of authority.  Who's zoomin' who?

Time to explore interpretive communities.

I see little reason to believe that mixtures of those applications will
necessarily find a common XML Base useful.  This kind of
semantically-impinging information seems like something that should be
as close to the application as possible, not thrown haphazardly into the
syntax specs.  Imitating the HTML BASE element never seemed that strong
an idea to me.
