Note sure if this has been mentioned here, but some Real Smart Guys over 
in the IETF are working on draft guidelines for How To Use XML.  It's 
not 100% fully cooked yet, but it's turning into IMHO a superb piece of 
work that applies well beyond the IETF.  Mailing list at

Also, it's not often that James opens the ports, rolls out all the
