If the instance had an internal subset before, it will have an internal 
subset after processing - only if the processing
is non-invasive. Same goes for the usual suspects : all prolog stuff, 
entity refs, attribute ordering and positioning etc.
People who work with markup get miffed when this stuff disappears through 
lossy roundtripping.
