I meant to say "datatype library", of course.  And the context here
is of a string that contains only English-language characters,
whatever those may be.  If the datatype library is RNG-compatible, then one
can write a schema like:

datatypes orth = "http://www.orthography.not/ns/datatype"
element text { orth:en }
