Computer security is very poorly understood. For a start, it's often kind of 
counter-intuitive; if you sit down and design what would appear to be a good 
cryptosystem, it probably won't be unless you've had the 'specialist 
training'. Secondly, few people study it in enough details unless they are 
explicitly aiming to be a security specialist...
