Conceptual mistakes become du jure mistakes.   
If it is costly, one wonders about the definition 
of integrity if it has to be defended post hoc.

Namespaces don't belong in the core.

That's a pretty compelling argument, IMHO.  As I implied in an earlier
reply to Len, conceptual integrity has a "value" all its own, even though
that is hard to quantify in a cost/benefit analysis.
