Thanks, Joe.  You've listed every headache I'd feared in implementing
XMLNS 1.1 for MOE.  Given enough time and aspirin, I guess I can deal
with it, but wow...

I'd be really curious about what impact this should have on the DOM. 
SAX2 I think can cope with it.
