Some unix sytems have a broken tar utility - or at least the can fail with
some tarballs.  I think (I'm not sure) I've seen that this applies to
Solaris 7.  Get a gnu version of tar and try it.

  I downloaded Xerces2.0.0 Parser from http://xml.apache.org/dist/xerces-j/
. While installing the Solaris(binary) version on Solaris7, Checksum error
is thrown.  But the windows version gets installed fine on windows2000/NT.
