A fun and possibly productive topic....

Is any one aware of work being done to create a standard 
format for exporting and importing data dictionaries for 
report writers (eg, Crystal Reports)?  There has to be a 
file format given these are file types in existing systems.
Any thoughts on how one would do that? 

Is this possibly an application for topic maps?
