Pop doesn't have to be bad music. It only has to be
popular. Code doesn't have to be obscure; it only
has to do a job someone needs done.

Markup lives in the overlap between the requirement
for a reliable vehicle and the occasional need for a
user to look under the hood. On the other hand, it
is rare for a driver to fix a crankshaft. In a world
where implementors rule, markup becomes a racecar
and only a highly trained pit crew can change a tire.

> Without users, code is poetry, not product

But fortunately, the existence of users needn't reduce its poetic qualities.
