Seems like most of those can be summarized as
"poor browser support for XML and CSS2"...
that's been a gripe for several years now.

And there's a strong streak of "metadata gets lost"
in the rest ... sticking it in the doc doesn't work with
tools (internal subset) or staff (duplicated via attributes),
neither does keeping it outside (external subset).
