A - is for Apple
B - is for Boy
C - is for Cat
D - is for Dog
E - is for Errata

Most (if not all) W3C specs have an errata document that contains fixes or clarifications.  For XML 1.0, the errata documents are http://www.w3.org/XML/xml-19980210-errata (first edition) and
http://www.w3.org/XML/xml-V10-2e-errata (second edition).  E109 is in the first edition errata.
