I think these are all excellent suggestions, as is the idea of adding a 
library of useful tools to SAX. As Simon notes, in many cases this might 
mean collating already available code under a single license. I suspect 
that the others could be very quickly spec'd and written as I'm sure 
we've all got bit and pieces of code that perform similar functions.
