When I met Mr. Charles Goldfarb sometime back, he sounded more like the 'Grandfather' of XML than a 'Father' of XML. I don't quite recall the details of what he said, but I got the impression that his thoughts were more focused on SGML and viewed XML in a grandfatherly ways: proud feeling of kinship as well as feeling of disconnection. Given that those whose names are actually on the XML 1.0 spec have earned their places through labor of love, I don't think Mr. Charles Goldfarb is entitled to be called 'Father' of XML. Jon Bosak deserves that titled. I wonder what Jon's views are on this Blueberry mess... Best, Don Park Docuverse
