Hi everyone,

I am just looking for some historical discussion of SAX... the main
discussion (if it exists) I am looking for is why in the "characters"
function (and others) the parameter list is:

  characters (char ch[], int start, int length)

and not

  characters (String ch)

I, myself, could think of several good reasons-- I just want to know what
the original reason was.
