  Gee, usually people wait until April 1st for things like this.  IBM's
really getting infected by the Linux stuff if they're developing a sense
of humor.

  If IBM's EBCDIC-to-Unicode translation is broken[0], which makes more
sense as a fix: make the entire world change its implementation of a
protocol that's worked for years, or make IBM change its own software
on one platform?

[0] Yes, there's a Unicode character there that matches theirs, but one
presumes it was added at their instigation, rather than map to CR and
LF...
