I've written a small piece which converts Word 2000's HTML export to
well-formed XML.  It's still in the HTML/MS vocabulary, but at least it's a
starting point from which you could use XSLT or other tools to massage it
into your vocabulary.

It's a pretty small piece of open-source Java code.
