In my opinion, entity references are as broken as #define in C,
so why should I miss them? Entity references provide nothing
essential to the document structure. However, if I want to
continue using them, nothing hinders me. I would just need a
small preprocessing step resolving them before delivering
my documents to the outside world.

Best,

Stefan
