Precisely. It is a "don't use it if you don't need it but don't throw it away in case you do" philosophy. There is a long thread in Robin Cover's OASIS page on this and many of the other subjects that this poster brings up. I humbly submit that while all questions are welcome, it is also a good thing to review the archived material that Robin maintains for basic XML questions. Keep in mind that XML as a meta language has to meet a bewildering array of requirements for applications, and because of that, Tim's "just small enough" is on the money.
