More recently, there's GJ (Generic Java) which may or may not be
incorporated into the next rev of the Java Language Spec:

  http://www.cs.bell-labs.com/who/wadler/pizza/gj/

It works pretty well with normal Java and it runs nicely in browsers,
but it still cannot handle templates for primitive types.
