I'd like to applaud the way in which the spirit of the list has blossomed
over the last few weeks. Transitions are always difficult and I am sure
that the new organisation will bring new ideas and implementations. Part of
this echoes the discussion on SAX - regular metamorphosis is often good and
is frequently used in biology. Few creatures are both eternally young and
highly complex.

I am privileged to be invited to give a tutorial at XTech2000, so I would
be delighted to meet with any of you. I describe myself as greybearded and
young at heart. I am really excited about the ideas that have sprung up in
the last few months - "daughter" lists, archives, communal book creation,
dynamic home pages, etc. XML-DEV now has a life of its own which will spawn
new ideas which have never been tried out before.

	P.
