I have downloaded and looked at SAX2 beta interfaces.

It looks nice. I look forward to seeing them implemented in parsers soon.

I have a comment regarding "org.xml.sax.ext.LexicalHandler".

LexicalHandler could have a method to provide internal DTD subset as a whole
to an application. This benefits those applications which try to restore
original document's doctype section as close as possible. I found DOM L2 as
it currently stands has a similar method in its DocumentType interface,
so its support also helps if you want to construct DOM L2 tree based on SAX2
events.
