Sorry for newbie questions.

I am considering to do some serious implementation for serialization of
C/C++ objects
using XML. I found that WDDX, XML-RPC, WIDL could be used for doing much of
my stuff.

Are there any other techniques for doing object serilization ?
Are there any standardization effort in this direction ?
