Two people already asked me for info about the XML Schema types I noticed
Microsoft is using.

So... here is the link:

The datatypes I noticed relevant to our discussion were:

bin.base64  MIME-style Base64 encoded binary BLOB
bin.hex     Hexadecimal digits representing octets.
