Tyler, Future work on DOM Level 1 will probably be limited to the Errata section. This means that the namespace issues will have to be dealt with in DOM Level 2. I would like to suggest that you bring up the DOM-related namespace issues in the DOM mailing list so that we can focus on it specifically from the DOM perspective.
