The current rev of the DOM spec has no support for namespaces.  
Tyler Baker is correct in his statements that until it does, 
wrangling namespace-containing documents via the DOM is going
to be a pain in the butt.

I kind of suspect the DOM folks are hearing about this from
several directions. -Tim
